SOME WORDS ABOUT US

About the Artist

Neha (Thapa) Sharma is a self-taught visual artist, who hails from a beautiful town of Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh, India. While simultaneously pursing a career in the publishing industry, her love for creativity pushed her to becoming a part-time/weekend artist. She enjoys painting primarily in acrylic colours, and loves doing landscape, portrait and artwork highlighting Indian Culture and spirituality.

“For me, painting is a timeless leap into an unknown territory. Having no formal education in fine arts or the technical aspects of painting, i always underplayed my passion to create or to showcase my work to the world. However, with the tremendous support from family and friends, I decided to overcome this inhibition and open my art for the world to see.

Having married to an army officer, i have had a chance to travel to nooks and corners of the country. Because of this enriching experience, I had a chance to interact with lots of people from different realms of life. You realise that there is no dearth of talent. It motivated me to gain confidence and pursue what I loved the most. Many of my paintings are an ode to the soldiers who are manning tough terrains, day in day out, irrespective of the bad weather conditions and everyday danger to their lives. As an artist, this is my way to showcase my gratitude to the glorious organisation that i have been fortunate to be a part of. I hope my work creates awareness and more respect towards the forces.”
